Happy Lunar new year to all!!

Second day of CNY and i am feeling not myself. I have been eating Mac and bak kwa on my diet these days, is totally unthinkable. Poor choice is still better than no choice. I shall repent soon. Meanwhile, CNY is all over the streets & even on the people. I see so many families wearing the traditional chinese outfits this year. Very rare it is as usually, people who wear like these usually work at restaurants or my regular masseuses uniform. Haha opps.

Meanwhile, happy to have a good LONG break and tend to things that are needed to be taken care of.

Recently, a friend of mine has been going through a series of bad mishaps in her life, if not for a strong heart or mind, one can go berserk and seep into depression. When i know of the things that has happened to her, it all leads back to 1 person's mistake and snowballing into someone's else misery.

We can do the best that we can for ourselves sometimes but other people might not think the same way. For e.g. If a father chooses to leave his family for another woman, his wife and children gets affected, not because of what wrong they had done, but they all have to suffer the one man's mistake for themselves. Not for just a short period of time, but a scar that never be removed.

Living your life is not just for yourself, but is for others are well.

Don't be irresponsible and selfish, life doesn't circle just around you. Think about the people who maybe affected and don't let people suffer for your mistakes.

Sorry for the intensity of this entry but just writing my thoughts. Meanwhile, hungry now and wondering my choice of food options later. Great.

7 more days to CNY and if you are out, you can sense the atmosphere of it everywhere. Whether it is the red anything everywhere, or is the fake irritating fire cracker noise, you know that the time of feasting, family and visiting is here again.

Looking forward for the break and rest, yes, of course, mum's steamboat. I am not visiting this year as a sign of protest as i don't really need that $4 in a packet ang pow to crush thy ego of why am i not this or that.

As mentioned before, i shall take this break to revamp thy room. Or just simply just sit still and be coach potato. 4 more days till my week ends. God have mercy. The tiredness is definitely crazy. I have actually resorted to drinking old people's drink aka ginseng tea to perk myself up.

What will my 2012 be like?

As i began to think about what my new year can be like, it will either be fill with hope or pure uncertainty. It is liken to looking at a blank white piece of paper, you start to draw your visions and dreams on it and hope to God that everything will turn out to be what you drew in the beginning.

I choose hope. Being hopeful for good things that will happen. So much blessings happening in my life that people will not have enough room to contain their jealously over.

As i begin to hear of my friends promotions and pay increment, one can't help but to thank God because i know that He will do the same for me as well. Jiahui likes to mention HUAT AH for no rhyme or reason and somehow, God says that our words form our world. I should say that at least 10 times a day. I need 10 times the fortune.

El shaddai, pls prosper my business so that i can move into another level of financial abundance in my life so that i can have more than enough for myself and to bless others in my life. HUAT AH!!!

Seeing how time passes by so fast makes me jumpy.

Been a while since i blogged because of all the festivities that has happened. Just a quick summary of what happened.

Had one too many drinks, therefore leading to an awful start to being 31 and determined beginning to drinking lesser in 2012. I call that o fateful night, "the night i almost died".

Lastly, spending the last day of 2011 with kinect games and connect drinks. Don't worry, i didn't drink much. Really.

Today is the 4th day of 2012 and i have yet to jot my resolutions and clean up my room. All in due time and all in due date. Started the year feeling refreshed and the goodness of God over my life. Confessing that it will be a greater year for me is something i know is going to happen. Meanwhile, another festival, another type of new year coming. Not going to do visitations this year. I quit the whole act altogether and decide to humour myself with something more useful than receiving Ang Pow.

Last day being 30

In just a small span of 1 hour, I will sadly turn another year older.

As I am typing this, I begin to wonder if I prevent myself from blowing the candle, does it mean that I pretend that I am still 30?

Simply to say this. I am not scared to be called 31. Just scared that I might need to behave like one soon.

Thinking about this gives me a semi stroke. Better stop typing.

The best blessing in life

Was listening to John Avanzini's preaching on 100 fold blessings yesterday during service, mainly about finances and being prosperous in life but yet my heart wasn't stirred as much as i should have been. Funny.

Though in everyone's mind, one wants to be super rich esp when you see how long the queue is for 4D or TOTO every weeken. Money maybe a quick solution to many problems in our lives but it doesn't neccessarily makes us the happiest people.

At the end of the day, God didn't create us to just work hard and be wealthy. It is who you can share your finances with that money can be measured in real value. The Bible says why gain the whole world and lose your own soul. You can have all the money in the world but somethings just can't be bought with money like happiness.

Having people in your life to share your hard earned money with should be the only motivation behind why you want to be rich. Not just for yourself but for the benefit of others.

The 100 fold blessing that i want? Meaningful relationships in my life. Meaningful visions and dreams. Meaningful results from my hard work. TYJ

Feeling thankful

Don't know is it because i ain't so busy at work today but i am feeling especially calm and collected. LOL. Compared to the days of heavy-duty work that i have been experiencing the last few weeks, i am feeling especially thankful today too.

22 more days before 2011 comes to an end. Times sure passes by fast especially when you are busy. You just don't know where the time went. As i type this entry (at ease of course) i just want to remind myself the art of thanksgiving.

Maybe i felt that i have been through physical hardship in terms of my work, i am beginning to be thankful to any type of rest that i might have. Thankful that my business isn't dying. Thankful for meaningful friendships that i have. Thankful for the love that my family and friends give me without expecting anything back. Thankful for God's protection. Thankful to be alive and the blessings that come with it.

Celebrating Christmas this evening with the CG. Feels weird to celebrate Christmas so early but i am hoping that my angel to be generous. LOL.

So how's everyone's weekend? Mine blows in terms of work.

Have you ever felt that you are walking under a cloudy rain where everyone is walking under sunshine?

Miserable.

Near death experience to me happened yesterday. Had a bad day at work.

The curse is this bank that i have been helping. I don't know why, everytime i help this bank, i become super sway like mad.

Yesterday, suppose to help them deliver road show things to and fro from Pasir Ris to Clementi. Ready to hear what happened to me that you wished never happened to you?

I was on my way to Clementi from Pasir Ris after collecting a whole bunch of stuff. In the middle of the highway, in heavy heavy rainpour(mind you), 3 major things happened.

1. Suddenly the battery light of my van comes up

2. Suddenly my air-con starts failing.

3. In horror, my brakes failed!!!

Driving on the highway with failed brakes is almost getting myself into a near death experience. Thankfully, i wasn't driving so close to the car infront of me. Neither did some moron try to cut line so that i didnt have to use my failed brakes.

To add to the horror, because the air-con was not working, the screen starts fogging up every 2 mins and thats when i am on the verge of going crazy. Thankfully, Deb was with me, who was diligently helping me to wipe the dew off the screen so that i won't break down and cry or something.

I had to decide. Whether to call the tow truck or not. Keep in mind, i still have alot of junk in the van waiting to be delivered. With Deb's life to be considered as well, i decided to risk things by choosing to deliver the things first and decide how God was going to save me from this almost pathetic situation.

Thankfully, the rain slowly subsided when we reached Clementi. Thankfully, there were no mad drivers around me that day. Thankfully, we were able to find the shop location in a jiffy.

To tell you the truth, once we reached Clementi, our plague didn't stop. More challenges but patient Deb was there to calm me down from my already despair state. Though it was a hard time transporting the stuff, i grit my teeth and ask God to give me strength.

After unloading the stuff successfully, i honestly don't know whether if i can drive the car back. Didn't want to trouble the tow guy and kill his Sunday and neither did i want to kill my pocket. So, again, i decided to risk deb n my life, to drive home all the way from Clementi to Serangoon. How crazy was i? Very. The mechanic who view my van today was amazed of how i even managed to drive the van to his workshop this morning.

My answer. Angels carried the van and myself there. I believe that angels were behind my brakes who weren't suppose to be working but somehow, i managed to "brake".

Well, let's just say i am thankful that i didn't kill Deb and i still managed to eat my mum's mee siam that night. Mechanic says that motor belt came off and is going to kill my pocket to replace it once again. I shall ask God to have mercy on my pocket or else is just going to be a very lean Christmas for me this year.

I pray that this will never happen to you. Killed my spirit. Literally.

Don't know is it because of the bad day that has happened but i am beginning to doubt the intentions of why i started my business. It is just so tough sometimes. Doing so much and sometimes, so little money!! Argh. Success seems so easy for some people ard me whereas for me, i feel stuck and unsuccessful.

I have many rough days of work the 2nd half of my year. Though i have more business compared to this time of last year, i still feel discouraged now and then from work mishaps, sore muscles and even escalated fines. Really thinking to myself if all of it is worth it.

Meanwhile, 10 more mins before i end my Monday and hoping to burn off some steam later. Another long day tomr. Oh God, have mercy.

Current game i am playing

I usually don't like games like that but Charlie Brown and the gang is just too cute! Moreover, the game is FREE!! So if you own an ipad, pls try playing this game so that i can add you as a friend. It is in the to-do list. Part of the game.

Lost but found!

Lost my coin pouch a couple of weeks back but to my amazement, i found it!

Found it in the van, stuck in between the driver's seat and the passenger's seat!! Funny how i didn't see it before. It was like the coin pouch appeared out of nowhere!

Thankfully, my $50 note was still inside.

Thankfully, the technician who serviced my van recently didn't see it.

Thankfully, the peace in my heart surpassed all my understanding.

Thankful to God.

Is pretty amazing how God works sometimes. Throughout my lifetime, i seem to lose somethings which in my finite mind, will be lost forever. But the peace of God always assures me that i didn't lose it, i just misplaced it. For my wallet, for my PDA and sometimes, my vision in life.

Shall keep my coin pouch safety from now onwards. Apparently, is hard to get good ones that are nice and cheap these days.

The pressures of life

I am beginning to feel the stressfulness of life especially maintenance. I think that it is totally stretching when life is hard, you wanna eat well but have to pay high price for it even though you aren't earning much in the first place.

I am finding it real taxing to support 2 vehicles at the moment. Honestly, with the ERPs, the high cost of petrol, the road tax, the insurance, the servicing and the irritating of swayness when you are fined now and there for either illegal parking, speeding or putting insufficient parking coupons. I am honestly feel the need to work extra hard so as to MAINTAIN my life normally.

I am beginning to wonder how does people who have houses, car and even children manage their life so well? Are they really earning alot or are they scrimp in every dollar they spend?

When you are thinking of going away for a holiday, that is when you feel like escaping the normality of your daily routine of just scrimping and saving and just forget about it for that few days and knock yourself out and spend. Normally, i would care less about what i spend when i am overseas but it is the coming back to reality when you feel the need to work hard again and thats when the cycle begins again.

The reason why i am writing this is because i am honestly stressed. I just paid close to $700 just to service my van that day. (I know.... kills me each time i think of it) Do you know how many errands i have to run to cover that cost? Argh.

MAINTENANCE is something biblical and a character we must have in our life. It shows what kind of steward you are in handling what God has entrusted to you.

If there is no maintenance in your health, you are likely to put on weight and have tons of sickness.

If there is no maintenance in your finances, you are likely to get into debt and be poor all the time.

If there is no maintenance in your marriage, you are likely to take each other for granted and be unhappy in it.

If there is no maintenance in your life, you are likely to be messed up actually.

Whilst the Bible did tell us not to worry about what we eat, drink and wear, i choose to take my worries into action by WORKING HARD. Whining and complaining doesn't bring me more monies. Working hard does. Meanwhile, excuse me for my words but if you are like me, trying hard to maintain your life, take heart and don't give up. Living life is our way of life and working hard for your life is something that you are in charge of.

Take charge today. I shall take charge once again in 3.....2....1....

Gals out for prawning

Prawning. Something that has been around for a while but i haven't got the chance to try it out.

Do i like fishing? No.

Do i like to eat prawns? Yes.

Do i like to fish for prawns? Soon to find out.

10 girls. 7 baits. 2 hours to prawn.

The location is at Tebing Prawning at Punngol Promenade. $18 for 1 hour & $33 for 3 hours. Open 24 hours a day!! Quite expensive esp if you are not able to catch anything within that 1 hour.

Prawns are apparently thrown into the pond daily but over my 2.5 hours there, prawns were already restocked twice.

Cheryl was the first to catch the first 2 prawns but after the prawns were re-stocked, things got easier for us. LOL

Honestly, without the help of a pro uncle nearby us, we wouldn't have a clue of when to fish out the prawn. Think we will probably sit around, eating and drinking whilst the prawn enjoying the bait food underneath the waters, calling us idiots.

The best fun of the whole thing was the noise that we produced. Imagine screaming bloody murder every single time we managed to catch a prawn out of the waters. We are officially the mood killers for most who wishes for peace and quiet whilst prawning.

Due to my quirky nature, i like to do things differently from other people. So normally when people put 1 bait of food, i triple it and put a huge ass bait instead. The result of my quirkyness?

We caught a prawn the size of a lobster! LOL

I was shocked at the size of this particular prawn. As usual, every prawn that SY catches, she will be so excited to fish out the prawn that the catch almost every time goes straight to my direction but thankful to my quick reflects, i am able to "siam" that enormous and semi-mutant prawn. LOL.

At the end of the day, 22 prawns were counted. Techinically is 23 but we dropped 1 accidentally.

What better way to celebrate our success but eating our success? LOL

Overall, the gals did have great fun and i must say we can bond better than the guys in the CG. LOL.

Next suggested outing together i apparently...

I can only imagine what the outcome will be. LOL. We are indeed crazy.

Titanic exhibition at MBS

Opps, should have blogged this last week but i was just too busy. Well, to the benefit of my blog readers, i shall share my experience about my trip to the Titanic exhibit at MBS.

Art Science Museum is something that i find the most appealing of all the museums that we have in SG. Besides the nice architect design of it, it is always exhibiting nice and renowned exhibits such as the Art work of Van Gogh, the terracotta army and now, TITANIC.

I always wanted to visit any of the Titanic exhibits around the world because of my past fav movie....

No, no, i wasn't intrigued by Jack & Rose. (Honest to God) As a history lover, i am intrigued by the story of this great tragedy. Is amazing knowing this can be prevented if one's ego is not titanic and to built sufficient boats for all on board.

Meanwhile, excited!!

Unfortunately, can't take photos inside the exhibt so can't really show you much pics but i must say that the exhibit is really good. They created this illusion of being in the Titanic very well. I liked the illusion of being under water and you see images of Titanic under the sea for almost 100 years,

I must say that the artifacts that are being displayed are not that impressive. Is either some screw driver they found or some dented pipe. Guess they don't display the best stuff here. I was hoping to see some photos or some treasure chest or something. LOL

Other than that, i would encourage you to go and take a look for yourself. Is $24 bucks for entry but if you have OCBC credit card, there is a 20% discount! Good deal!! Pls go and see. It is until April next year. Takes about 1.5 hours.

Can't show you much from the exhibit, show you gift shop items instead. LOL.

Too ex to buy. I would have bought it if i were overseas or something. LOL

After the exhibit, we went to the TWG at MBS.

We sure know how to enjoy life. But kinda regretted it after seeing such a large sum on the bill. $90 plus for 5 persons with just some cakes and scones is really too much to bear. We could have used the money to eat like kings at JB or something. Enough said, enough to say never again to TWG. It is really not worth it. A pot of tea for $11 bucks, UNREFILLABLE somemore! No way ever again. Thank you.

Sunday Tai-tai life was indeed enjoyable esp with good companionship. Good experience and happy memories. Thanks gals and Ken for the wonderful day.

WWF - It's not wrestling

It was a thurs and i was tired, busy and famished. All i wanted was a quick bite at Ikea but sad to say, i wasn't quick enough.

As if my already hard day wasn't enough, i was being approached by this young lady, who i must say, pleaded with me to support the poor animals that are close to extinct and need my money to stay around in this world for another 100 years.

"Just $1 a day, Miss. You won't die or starve out of hunger right?"

I honestly wanted to tell her this "If you don't let me take a bite of my hot dog, i WILL STARVE of hunger..."

I am sorry but isn't caring for animals God's job??

I don't know if it is the lady's puppy dog eyes or is it my conscience that made me feel bad of wanting to walk away from another type of commitment that i have to pay every month. Truthfully, $1 a day doesn't seem alot but i don't really care about animals that much to work so hard for. Sorry animal lovers but i rather spend the $30 plus a month for a decent meal.

Moral of the story, i conceded defeat and decided to let future generations to see animals in this world. Argh. The only good thing i got out of the whole 10min talk that i was being commented that i look YOUNG.

Woohoo for that 1 min, Boohoo for the next 1 year.

Argh. I am starting to feel stupid actually. Deduction is happening in the next 3 days. Fed up.

On my goodness, my lack of posts is totally off track, liken my bible reading and inflections. Darn. I hate inconsistency but i blame myself cos i choose to be busy resulting in tiredness and lose track of things that are general important to my mind & soul.

With the little time that i have today, i shall attempt to write a couple of posts just to update you who is interested enough to read this. LOL.

That's right. I got an iPad!!!! Woohoo!!! Thank You, Jesus!

I was in awe and shocked to receive such an early birthday present and even more touched when i saw what the gift was. Touched max!! Really feel very thankful esp having to yearn and pray to purchase an ipad for the longest time (2 years btw)

God is indeed good. I can't ask for anything better in my life.

Meanwhile, having the darnest of time using and showing off that i finally own an ipad. I must say i look for cool with it. LOL.

Reflecting on thy self

Don't know is it because of old age or because of my job nature,

I DON'T LIKE TO WASTE TIME

Though i am quite a chillax person but when it comes to a schedule or a fixed appointment or just a pure desire to move along in life, i often find myself rushing ahead of others and forgetting to wait for people around me to move on as well.

Season of love is being preached and indeed, the test of loving is truly great! I find myself easily irritated and unable to bear with people who are different from me LATELY but the word of God always comes and soften my heart.

Meanwhile, i start this Monday grouchy because of the long week that is ahead of me. Oh well, at least there is money to be earned. I need more monies.

God, give me patience and to remember to be accommodating to others. Peace out!

Time sure passes by fast.

It is THE END of Oct 2011.

Sometimes, i can't believe where did the time fly to? The sight of Christmas decorations around sends shivers down my spine. I often wonder what is a good way to get out of it but sharing the joy of Christmas is my job as a Christian, so......... i shall re-think my escape plans.

Meanwhile, alot of people are dressing up for Halloween this weekend, not for trick or treat but to scare the living daylights out of people.

Not celebrating this event, just eating candy perhaps.

Super interested to go for this instead.

Always fascinated by the exhibits that is showcased in the Arts Science Museum. It is so so good. It begins this sat btw if you are interested to go.

At the end of the day, it is still about our relationship with God and the people we meet on earth.

Feeling thankful for my cg people. I realised we were together for the whole of the weekend and still not sick of each other. LOL

Now, we have separate guys and gals fellowship, we have drinks n booze fellowship, we have football fellowship, we are indeed scoring high points for inreaching. LOL

Spending time is indeed the highest form of love. Talking to each other with respect and humility is something that i will try to do now too esp towards my parents. LOL. Yes, God & Mr & Mrs Tok, pls forgive me.

Today is Friday and if you are wondering like me, how did the time fly by so fast?

Another 10 more days before Oct comes to an end and i sense the festivities drawing near. Christmas, New Year's, Chinese New Year. The times that i dread. Honestly.

The pressure of celebration, the pressure of tons of things to do, the pressure of the exciting crowds just makes me wanna go off somewhere where none of it happens.

The year is coming to an end, and i am reevaluating my priorities. I am thankful for the many wonderful things that has happened for me this year and i have learned to be grateful to every single blessing.

Had too much fun this year, resulting from spending too much too. Darn. My bad.... but thankfully...money is easily earned back. LOL.

What am i trying to say??? I am saying i am glad that i am living a life that i am happy living. Happy with the people that is around me. Happy that i am able to do something that i like to do. Happily happy. No no, not married but i find happiness in the little things.

Basically super fun to watch the match in church together with screaming fans and funny green laser lights on screen. I had fun with my friends and teasing my only cg member who is a liverpool fan who dared to sit around us.

Human beings and football. We love the sport but hate the other teams other than the one we are supporting.

Next week, Man U VS Man City.

At least they don't have to travel far this time. Wish to travel to Manchester one day man. Maybe next year. Anyone? LOL

Reflecting on inflections

Is been 12 days since i started on inflections and i have been consistent in my bible reading & writing down my inflections. Every day, the Bible teaches me something new, refines my attitudes anew and sets my thinking higher than what i originally had.

One of my inflections:-

The miracle of 5 loaves and 2 fishys

I found things to be funny when the disciples were still unable to understand how Jesus works even though they were there to witness ALL the signs & miracles He had done.

Is funny how some people seem to be so close to each other BUT still do not know what the other person is like.

Is funny how people tend to forget their blessings in their lives so easily.

Knowing & understanding how God is, how He works, what He is like & appreciating Him for His blessings is something every believer should achieve in his/her lifetime.

The miracle of breaking bread to feed the hungry followers was NOT once but twice BUT still, the disciples worried about the shortage of food.

Knowing God will lead to less questions but fast actions because we know how He moves.

The Art of knowing God continues.....

Celebratory behaviour... i like it

Last weekend was a time of celebrating of 2 birthdays + 1 wedding which resulted in too much alcohol and too little rest. A nip of beer on Fri, a tinge of knuckle on Sat and a sip of wine on Sunday. *Hick. I still feel a little high as i type this.

I have known both of them since 2005 and i am thankful to God for being able to know them. Both of them are one of the most generous, genuine and caring people i have seen in my lifetime. They brought much laughter and happy memories in my life. All that beer and booze is all for u Eliz. Well, for Thow Wee, the thought is Happy wife, Happy LIFE for you. My cousin's wedding at this good date 091011. His wife might kick him in the shin if he doesn't remember his wedding anniversary. LOL. Real happy for my cousin.

I sat at the table filled with my cousins ranging from the oldest to the youngest and i must say that they really know how to have a good time after being semi-tipsy that is. They are kids but they can hold their liquor better than i do. This is what happened to me.

My whole being from neck up was completely red and redder.

Maybe is in my genes, maybe is because i have good blood circulation but everytime i drink alcohol, i turned into this lobster and scare the wits of those ard me.

History shows i am lousy at drinking but time after time, i find myself in trouble. I can't explain it. I like wine but wine doesn't like me.

However, it does relaxes me and it made me so high, i think i began to sprout nonsense and do things that i won't usually do. Believe me, i only had less than 2 cups of wine and this is the effects of lousy handling.

Well, i drunk in the name of celebration. Normally i just drink coke zero in a good day. LOL

Judging by the smirk that i have on my face shows how truly i am humbled and blessed by the awesome treatment given to me by Ms Beiyu.

Her name might mean ultra glorious but her actions are TRULY generous and glorious too. She invited me to her place for a cooked meal by her truly. I was totally beaten when she can really cook well. My friend is all grown up. The most touching thing was this piece of dish.

Our running club actually kept going consistantly for more than 6 weeks! Eliz is always thinking how to reward herself. Ha

Ate some mooncakes, tons of family & friends time. Most importantly, i had a good run for my business this month, so far the highest earnings for 2011. Really want to thank God for His favor. I have been getting alot of businesses other than friends so i am thankful for the opportunity to Singaporeans.

Tomr is Oct and i look forward to great things in stall for me. Meanwhile, playing for guitar for CGM and starting to pray that my fingers will be numb so that i won't be able to experience the pain that comes with the playing. Pray for me if you are reading this on a Friday before 8pm. Thankful to be able to serve God and i do love to serve God. Just hate my unpractised hands and my lack of diligence. Maybe i should do something about it.

I am beginning to wonder who blogs nowadays when there is twitter and facebook? Is better to type crap then type out long words of crap abt life. Ha... lazy me.

Anyways, last week was great. Travelling to KL to celebrate sis birthday. (Seriously didn't expect myself to travel so many times this week) Road trips! They are the best! As a Singaporean, the only way for a road trip is only to Malaysia so... better than nothing.

Was excited to travel up to KL for the food. I slurp on the thought of nasi lemak and that Jogoya buffet spread!! Unfortunately, my excitement is only but for a short moment.

Sad to say, Sakura has dropped standard. The rice is hard, the chicken is not as juicy and the chilli became sweet! If things isn't bad enough, the place smells a little funky too. Great news.

After lunch, we walked the coconut milk off at Pavilion and sad to say, nothing much to see or buy. Bummer.

Dinner was semi-disappointing as well when my parents didn't quite like the food selection. The steamed fish wasn't fresh and Soo Kee's famous big prawn noodles was tasty with a hefty price!

The bill came to a whopping $77 SGD for a plate of steamed fish, veg, paper wrapped chicken and this prawn dish. I was shocked as the place was worst than a local kopitiam, no air-con, beside the road. With this price, we could have ate at any restaurant at Pavilion. I apologized to my parents a couple of times including bowing.

Our hotel, Dorsett Regency. Not bad for its location and the price. A good choice to live in if you are going up to KL one day. It has a pool in the hotel too.

Basically, the trip to KL was semi-boring but a good time spent with family. Realised that my parents are getting old, walking a little slower, get tired easily and can't really drive at night. I cherish the fact that they still care for us and willing to wait for us whenever my sis n i goes shopping plus they blessed us with the trip. I hope to earn more than enough so that i can bless them back that way as well.

Coming back to Singapore, we celebrated again with Jas & Jennifer over dinner. Went to Paradise Dynasty. awesome food.

If you must know, its a green tea tiramisu cake from Patisserie Glace. Yums!!

If you must know, just ask my sis regarding how old she turns. Ha

To sum things up, it is a good time to see sis back and to be able to celebrate birthday with her. Much more fun than celebrating in Aussie eh?? Hahaha... Here are some family photos we took.

Monday. The start of the week, the start of work. Most people when they wake up on Monday, they think about how much they dread to go to work, they think about how they look forward to lunch or drinking after work but for me, i think about how i am going to get money into my pocket for this week.

Business seems to be going but a little slow. People tell me that we are starting to go into a recession but to me, recession or no recession, there is money to be made, i just need to be at the right place, meet the right people and the right opportunity. I just need to see it before someone else does.

I am beginning to feel the effects of having my own business. With tons of commitments and bills to settle, i am finding myself in a panic attack but in a controlled manner because i am a Christian and i live in God's grace and peace. But the reality soon sets in and i have to work hard to make ends meet.

I need inspiration. I decided to look for Pst Phil. Went to his church website and caught his biography of how he started C3 church. Check it out.

Whether you are a Christian or not, we are not special nor do we have special powers from above, even if the calling and vision is from God, doesnt necessarily mean God will dote on me and rain me money from Heaven. God is training me up to be the 4 creatures that Pst Kong preached. To prepare, to lean on God, to lean on others and to have the determination of doing what He has called me to do. God is looking for character more than results.

As i encourage myself as i write this, i shall tell myself that i can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. New day, new week, new strength. I shall try harder again.

Recently, many of my friends are facing or going through a difficult period in their lives either in family, relationships or friendships. I feel that nothing else in this world is worst than experiencing a failed relationship with anyone as mentioned in any one of the categories i said before.

Very distraught knowing people can move on so fast and furious in terms of relationships even if both are together for a while Very distraught knowing the fact that there is so little commitment in a marriage. Even more distraught to know that people are just incredibly disappointing esp those who don't match their words to their action.

Felt burdened for this close friend. I pray that God will open her eyes to see and stop doing stupid things anymore. Young kid is at stake. Can't stand it.

Very thankful that Friday is here. Feels like a tiring week esp with all the workout that is happening almost everyday this week.

My CG running team. I named us "FAT TO FAB" CLUB. Unfortunately, we seemed to eat more than we ran that day. Somehow, we drank more than we ran too.

Sigh.

We are running hard but at the same time, drinking as hard. Not good. I was the good one. Drank coke light. Haha..

Looking forward to going JB on Sunday to celebrate Jiahui's birthday together with the cg peeps. Actually planned a small grp of singles but then it ended up to be like a cg outing sia. Oh well, hopefully everything goes well that day. The plan is go-karting, movie and tons of feasting. Sounds like a good day.

Another long afternoon of deliveries but the thought of fun thereafter makes me smile. Ok, have a great weekend too everyone!

Looking at this mooncake, there can be several questions that come into a person's mind.

1. What filling is this?
2. Where is this mooncake from?
3. Lastly, how much calories or fats am i consuming for this festive occasion?

Ok, i must admit, prob it is only me who is thinking of the last question but i must get you thinking! Ha

So before u indulge in 1 whole mooncake next monday, here are some of the nutritional facts you must know:-

A lotus seed paste mooncake contains 716 calories
A lotus seed paste mooncake with one salted egg yolk has 790 calories
If it has two salted egg yolks, that's 890 calories
If it has four salted egg yolks, you're looking at 975 calories.

I ran a hefty 5km last Monday but i only managed to burn off 240 calories. So for me to burn off one salted egg mooncake, i have to run 18.5km just to get rid of the mooncake. Is it worth it? I don't know. I certainly don't wish to run so much.

The average recommended daily intake of calories is 2,500 for men and 2,000 for women, so eating an entire mooncake could take up almost half your daily quota. Unless you are just eating mooncake that day, pls don't eat so much.

I maybe spoiling your appetite but pls o pls, if you wish to indulge in much mooncake, pls sip some puer tea along with it. For those eating durian mooncakes, you need more than tea. You need another thing. Breath mints.

My intake on drinking

Believe it or not, this number of martinis were drunk by a group of friends of mine who were enjoying the 1 for 1 martinis deal at No.5 Emerald Hill.

Before the martinis, we actually already drunk beer at Brozeit, OMG. This resulted in a late night hang out, a slightly protruding stomach & a very tired body the next day!

Honestly, i don't like to drink because no.1 i am bad at it, no.2 it is expensive and no.3 i don't like the feeling i have thereafter. I actually puke drinking 2 cups of iced baileys (Yes thats pretty lousy) Maybe it is a blessing in disguise. It is a health hazard plus i rather waste my money on drinking 10 coke zeros then spending it on 1 flaming Lamborghini.

Blame it on the age, but i don't look as badass as i should have been. Maybe the way to tilt my friend's drinking habit is to turn their ways to alcoholic cake or ice cream or something. Guess i am getting old. Meanwhile, Monday is coming to an end. Shall layback today.

One of these men will win 1 million dollars monthly after we, Singaporeans vote for them.

If you ask me if i really care about the Presidential elections, my answer is a big fat NO. My voting strategy is solely based on which Mr & Mrs looks better in a photo frame. With a million dollars, guaranteed FREE NDP tickets every year, free travels, shake hands everywhere you go, and hanging photos of themselves at every impt building in Singapore, tell me this is one of the best jobs in the world. Period.

The reason why i don't care is because i don't enjoy voting to give 1 million dollars away to someone else beside myself. The rest of us commoners have to struggle or work our way or even bet our way to becoming a millionaire. Rather than cracking my brain cells of trying to figure who to give the million dollars to, i rather think of ways of how to earn that 1 million dollars myself.

I vote myself to be a millionaire. That's my final decision.

My new perspective of China

My first trip to Mainland China has proved to be quite an experience and eye opener. Honestly, before going on this trip, i was alittle apprehensive and semi-reluctant because of all the good things that my friends and family have been telling me. Stuff like their toilets, their cheating ways and most of all, them as people.

Why do i still want to go to China then? Because it has been a dream since i was a teenager, to see the Great Wall, the Forbidden City and knowing more of my Chinese roots even though i don't speak well. So i decided to go after the Olympics in 2008 because i knew things will change for the better. Not the season but the timing of when to go.

Landing at their airport, i knew that i was right to wait till now to go there. The airport was big, spacious and high tech. I was impressed . As we left the airport, we were amazed how small their cabs are when they were unable to fit all of our 20" inch luggage into their boot. So we ended up squeezing together with the luggage at the passenger seats all the way to the hotel. Bad for me who is the smallest person.

Meanwhile, from Tues all the way to Fri, we seem to be a long walkathon. From Temple of Heaven, to Great wall to Forbidden City and man, all these places are SO BIG!! Not for the physically unfit.

ok, too lazy to load every photo but you get the meaning. Everything i saw in Beijing is so big!! The attractions, the food portions and if you are having a lucky day, you might even see big heartedness of the Beijingers. Ha

The best food i have ate and so far the only thing that is breath-taking is the Peking Duck. I am not lying when i say this. If you are not interested in history, nor the people, just go there and eat their duck!

I am someone who likes duck or even eat it when i am in Singapore. I don't like the duck taste in my mouth but this duck meat is so succulent, so odourless and so tasty, i felt so happy just to be there to eat it. This meal scores home run for me. One of the best things in Beijing.

Going to Laoshe has definitely won in cultural points for me. The ways Chinese do to preserve their culture and heritage is something to be commendable. I am most impressive with their acrobat stunts and the "bian lian". Totally entertaining.

As for the toilets, most of them do have doors but there are always toilet papers. Maybe is because i always go to the better toilets but nevertheless, i didn't get to view the nasty stuff like what rumours have said.

Truthfully, i don't think the Chinese are as scheming as one may have thought. They are quite diligent in their work and most of the time, only accept that is necessary to have. Once i misheard 50 yuan for 500, silly me still gave them 500 but they corrected me and ask me for the exact 50 yuan. They could have taken the 500 but they didn't. Shows that honesty is still a virtue in Chinese blood. Ha

One thing i can't stand is the crowdiness of the place. Maybe we went at the wrong period when their school were having holidays. School kids with families are everywhere. You see most of their own people visiting their own country. I don't know how the ang mos communicate with them esp when most of them don't really speak English unless you are in a tourist spot.

Meanwhile, going to all the legendary attractions in Beijing made me appreciate me being a Chinese. Every detail and every thing that they do has meaning and blessing on it. Everything still stands even after hundred over years! I find it to be amazing.

Although i didn't manage to see all the things that i wanted to see but it is a good trip. Had a fun time with the gals even though i walk them till they sweat like crazy. Think they have never walked so much in their lives. Thankfully, we are still friends. Ha

Hope to be able to go Beijing again but hopefully NOT when i am super old cos the walk might kill me faster. Ha. Thankful for the trip, Thank God for His protection and His wisdom. Thank you for reading. Haha..

5 Nights in Beijing

When you are reading this blog entry, i should be away in Beijing. As i begin to ponder, wonder, research and read up about China, i feel a little apprehensive but the dream of visiting the Great Wall, the forbidden city and the Olympic nest has given me courage. Ha

Meanwhile, looking forward to spend time with my friends, having tons of relaxing massages, shopping therapy and experiences to laugh at.

Monday talk

Opps, have not been blogging for the past of last week. Guess i was just too busy typing other things besides blogging.

Received my new old van last Wednesday.

Even though the van is pretty old BUT with a new coat of paint, a fresh wipe of water, it feels like a brand new one!

Have been practicing my manual skills for the past few days and i must say that i am getting better and better. Thankfully, it is not the driving that killed me.

It is the late night drinking on Saturday with some of my CG friends that did. I really can't hang out late anymore. It makes me all disoriented the next morning esp seeing myself at such late hours in the morning. Don't like the feeling of a hangover even i didn't drink alcohol. I truly am NOT going to hang out late as much as before. Is really not worth the trouble.

Today is finally a brand new month, which means i am getting paid soon. Last month was just too xiong for me, plus flying over to Beijing in another 7 days. Another round of spending. Argh. What am i doing? Plus, mum's birthday is this Sunday. Don't know when i can live in surplus again.

Basically rumblings for this post and then, i can start looking forward to the week ahead. Busy week ahead! Hopefully something nice will happen this week. Yawn... Going to sleep early tonight.

Harry Potter and my deathly neighbour

Yesterday, i was at the movies, watching Harry Potter with my friends and due to ticketing problems, one of us had to sit by ourselves. So i volunteered myself but never did i realise, my good works have come to bite me in my a**.

Out of nowhere, this huge guy (3 times the size of Homer Simpson) came and sat beside me. He had a huge pack of popcorn and was gobbling it down as if someone was trying to steal his popcorn. I was just so afraid that he will eat me up. My friend who saw him, got a shock, thought that he will sit on me and crush him. Ha

There was i, sitting in fear but at the same time, i was completely thrown off by the smell that the guy had on him. It was sour-ish type of body odour and i was using my tissue that was filled with popcorn to stuck it inside my nose.

At the end of 130mins, i was completely confused with the show and completely exhausted from the lack of oxygen. Sigh. What are the chances?

When one tries to comprehend and understand what had happened, it becomes difficult and despairing. But when God is in the picture of every scene in our life, everything becomes easy because God looks after every part of our life.I feel proud of Emma's parents because they show me what true faith really is. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen. God responds to our faith and NOT our needs. I am sure God is pleased with them and I expect good things to happen to them real soon.For those of you who know them, do continue to keep them in prayers. In all things, let's praise God!

New day, New life

This tree was rooted near the entrance of the hotel that i was staying in Canberra. Like most trees in Canberra, it withered down to just brunches due to the effects of winter season.

I took this picture as i was walking around my hotel area in the morning and i noticed that the tree was budding leaves again. Just the day before, the tree was dry and withered like the rest of the trees on the road but in just one day, things changed literally from something that is dead to life again.

I am encouraged by the visual effect of what God is trying to tell me after experiencing with a difficult situation. God is our faithful God and He will never let us down even when we see the situation as dire and hopeless. New day, New life. I am expecting good things to happen again.

In Aussie

Currently in Aussie and spending good family time with Sis and Warren. Went supermarket and ate so much home-cooked food either cooked by mum or warren's mum. Fruits n vegs are really huge and fresh here.Canberra is pretty cold at the moment. Up to -2 degrees on some nights and for Singaporeans like me, with not much options of winter wear, I am literally freezing in my ridiculously thin clothes. Never did I expect myself to come to Canberra so many times in my lifetime but sometimes for family, you just have to go to that extra mile. Meanwhile going back to SG tomr and dreading the huge amount of work that is waiting for me back home. Sigh. Second thing to dread, super humid weather in SG. Another sigh.Sad to bid Sis goodbye tomr but will look forward when she comes by to SG next month. Meanwhile, will try to enjoy myself here before reality sets in tomr.

Forgotten blessings

Recently, i was buying a birthday gift at a Christian bookstore and i happen to chance upon this book.

Yes, yes, i used to love watching Jon & Kate Plus Eight.

Interestingly enough, this book was lowly placed, tucked away in a corner and most importantly.....

It is almost 50% off! Good for me that is!

I remembered seeing this book when i was traveling to the States and the book was newly launched in the bookstores. For a hard cover, it used to be $30plus USD but now, the value of it has been vastly diminished.

Is funny how things you used to value drops when you change your mindset or ideas about it. I remembered those times when i would spend tons of money on aimless idol singers cards or CDs, and now, tucked away somewhere in the house, nowhere to be found.

Gosselins used to be naturally cute and fun to watch but currently, everything has changed and they are marketed to be cute and fun. Sheesh.

Most importantly, they have forgotten about how God blessed them. Having 8 healthy kids is a blessing. Some people i know don't even have 1 healthy kid. Guess the reason why their book drop in value is because the actions mismatch their words.

Judging myself, blessings are sometimes easily forgotten by man but it is the bad things that we remember. Funny how we are constructed that way. Nevertheless, upon seeing this book, it reminded me not to forget about God's blessings to me and also kind people around me who have showed me kindness. Remembering is a form of gratefulness.

I shall choose to be grateful person.

Daylight robbery

I received my recent Singtel bill and i was totally shocked of the ridiculous raise in my monthly phone bill!

As you can see from the bill, the reason for the increase is because of the data charges of $299!!

Mind you, i had already subscribe to the Blackberry data plan of 3Gb and i didn't even exceed 1Gb of data usage. When i called and asked why, they told me that i had use GPRS data for surfing of the internet. Yes, i did use my blackberry as a modem for my internet usage on my com but believe me!!! i didn't know that data & GPRS are separate costs.

As i began tor reason with the Singtel officer, my voice turned from "i-am-innocent" voice to "don't-mess-with-me" voice. I found it ridiculous that i had to subscribe to another GPRS data plan just so that they can waive that $299 data usage for 1 whole year!! That will cost be $114 extra above my phone subscription, my blackberry data cost! I am honestly innocent! Why do i have to pay for something that i didn't know different in the first place???

I am honestly disappointed about Singtel's act of daylight robbery without having to inform their customers about the difference of their price plans in the first place. Me and my big hands. Should i know, i wouldn't have use my phone as a modem.

Irritating. Purely irratating. Maybe i should change my phone operator soon. Not as though Singtel is very good now. Sometimes, i can't even receive calls even though my phone is switched on. Frustrating. Pure frustrating.

Reconcilation

Last Thursday, i met up with an old friend of mine, which we lost in contact for a couple of years due to some misunderstanding but i am glad, she took the first step to ask me out first. What i had thought would be a friend lost forever, i have now gained another friend through forgiveness,

I am also thankful that we have not lost our chemistry as friends. It was as if nothing happened. We laughed, we shared and we talked. It was a good meet-up.

Closure of bitterness, a new day of friendship begins and we have been talking since. Praise God.

Faith = Risk?

Taking a step of faith is taking a step of risk.

When Jesus called out unto Peter to come out of the boat to come to him, it is definitely a step of faith and risking over his own life but the word of God gives us the confidence and the assurance that we need to do bold things and to live life adventurously.

Purchasing a van definitely is something that is moving out of my comfort zone and into the risk zone. I need to work 3 times as hard just to maintain it.

Going to talk to my earthly and heavenly Father on this. Hopefully i get assurance and peace from my decision.

As i am typing this, i am suffering from muscle and back aches from all the hard labour that i have to do this week. Is amazing how a puny person like me can move and carry so many things by myself. Some people just underestimate of what i do or carry for that matter. True is, i work out so is harder for me to strain any of my muscles.

Yes, strain is not equal to aching.

Strain results in pain
Aching results in discomfort.

Worse of all, i started running this week, giving my body more excuses to hate me for torturing it but what can i say? i need to keep fit in order for me to carry on with my business. I met with a small mishap yesterday which i dont want to talk about it but when i think of it, it is actually quite hilarious. Ahem.

Ironically, thanks to exercise, i feel that i am less tired compared to people who are younger than me. I often find myself being more awake than anyone else unless i am in a situation where it is boring or nothing much to do.

Father's day is this weekend. Going to spend some time with my dad and treat him for a meal. Looking forward to some rest too.

Alright, back to work again. Another long night.

Running from running

Yes, this is me 3 years ago. Look at how flabby i was. My Gawd.

Somehow or rather, i stopped jogging since the beginning of 2009 and time sure passes by fast. Is been 2 years plus since i last ran and somehow, i don't even remember where i placed my jogging shoes.

Decided to jog with a friend of mine today as a sign of determination and motivation NOT to have second thoughts about running. Shopping for running equipment seems so much easier. Dressing like a runner seems so much easier.

Meanwhile, decided to go there with a clear and sound mind before i start losing the momentum of wanting to run. Did a longer than usual warm up because age doesn't allow me to be stupid & suffer from muscle aches the next day.

After jogging for a while, i thought, "Hey, this is not that bad" but after completing 1 round, my ankles were hurting as a sign of protest. Then i thought "Hey, this IS bad". Finally after jogging 3 rounds of the park, which i thought was like 10km or something, my friend then truthfully told me that we ran for less than 3km!!

In half an hour, less than 3km of run? "Hey, you are just old and slow" came to my mind. Oh well, not trying to win anything. Just doing something & entertaining my thoughts of running again. Proud of myself actually. I shall do this once a week.

Meanwhile, dead tired at this point PLUS a very long day tomr of deliveries. Which leads me to another thing. I need more muscles. Carried a heavy bunch of wires that day took the life out of me. That's all. Time for bed.

GSS syndrome

After since GSS started, i find myself buying things every other week. At the end of the day, mixed feelings do come when i feel proud in getting a good deal and at the same time, guilty for spending my hard earned money.

Bought it to motivate myself to jog again. Ha

Now i have no excuse not to run.

Good news for me. This tee is FOC from sis. Haha... Something nice that don't need me to fork out any monies. Woohoo...

Judging from the sale of GSS, i think i might be spending more monies for things that i need and prob wont shop anymore for at least half a year. (At least that is what i am telling myself)

I don't particularly enjoy shopping as it is tiring. I don't know how people do it as a hobby or sport by doing it every week. Don't enjoy the crowds too. Oh well, just going to spoil myself this June and i shall calculate how much money i blow off this month. Ha

Testimony

Was challenged on the Bible Study this week of these 2 things:

1) Taking care of others and God will take care of me and my needs.

2) Give my way out of poverty.

Both of those 2 things requires a step of faith on our part, not just in hearing the word but DOING it.

After John Avanzini came, i was challenged in my heart and spirit to move out of my comfort zone and one way of doing it is to give exceedingly and generously in my offerings in church.

Opportunity came when there was a call to send a member's sick mother to the hospital for her monthly check-up, i decided to offer my help and time to help my member out, FOC.

When i began to do these things, things began to happen immediately and suddenly, out of May's low sales in business, opportunities started to pour in just a matter of this week.

As i began to reflect, i know that kingdom purposes do work just as long as we take a step of faith to do it. Doesn't matter if the results doesn't come as soon as we want it, but according to God's timing and just as long as we are willing to obey God's word, blessing of God will come our way.

I start off my weekend with a open mind and a fresh spirit. Thank God for His blessings.

Doing it right

Spend my Tues night at Bible study and yes, fully awake throughout the whole session because the word of God refreshed and enlighten me once again.

What i caught from Pastor was when he shared how he takes care of himself as Shepherd.

3 things:-

1. Prayer

2. Trust

3. Giving

At first, i thought he will say things like watching movies, have a nice meal to stay sane. But when he said those 3 things, i was absolutely shocked. Not only is it something that i will NOT think of, it is also even more demanding on your own self, physically.

The more he spoke the word in truth, the more people clapped and applauded. Humanly and worldly speaking, no body is happy to be suffering and sacrificing so much but as Christians, doing what is right and having a strong backbone is more important to God than what you can achieve in life.

It takes inconvenience & alot of faith to do what is right.

Praying until something happens

Trusting even though you don't know whats going to happen

Giving even when you don't have much

Is easy to be sinful and doing what is bad BUT doing good is actually NOT easy.

I shall attempt to be good Christian.

Public or Personal transportation?

After taking 3 modes of public transport today, i decided that driving yourself is still at best. Though i enjoyed the process of being driven for once, i didn't enjoy the crowd or the reckless driving of the taxi driver. When i thought that i am one who drove like a maniac, i decided to demote myself because the cab that i was in was even crazier than i am.

I was quite shocked of what i had to pay for my cab fare since it was less than 10mins ride away from my destination. Therefore, i am convinced that my rate for BMT is definitely reasonable. Ha.

So therefore, if you are reading this today and convinced as i am about personal transport, work hard for your driver's license and purchase to maintain a car for the sake of personal pleasure. You will understand what i mean when you get there.

I have a love hate relationship with Friday.

Love that i won't have to work so much but i hate the fact that i feel tired and drained and yet still have to deal with the crowds outside.

Maybe the best way to spend Friday is to be a coach potato at home. Unfortunately, that is a dream not yet fulfilled.

Nevertheless, thankful but wish that my aging body can gather up some strength for the weekend. Need to start saving money. Blew quite a bit in just 1 week of GSS. Opps.

Starting of mid-year

Today is 1st of June already?

My goodness. Is already mid of 2011. Time sure passes by fast.

Don't you think about what is in your future everyday and every night? I do.

When i think about being in the mid of the year, the thought of not accomplishing much scares me a little.

I am worried about drifting through life without having to accomplish anything great. I am thinking of running again but the thought of it makes me wanna cry.

However, i do need to achieve something great this year so that i won't need to look back and regret.

Meanwhile, God has been speaking to me about moving out of my comfort zone and to challenge myself in doing something different and inconvenient. Haven't thought of anything that is suicidal yet but in the area of my business, i am prepared to do some drastic measures.

Even though i miss traveling, i don't foresee myself doing it this year. The need to save up is bugging me for a while. I shall leave my BIG traveling plans to next year.

I need to stay focus and make sure i finish my race well in 2011. I shall expect the best.

1. Mum got food poisoning for 2 days. This is because she is under this sickness called 'Mothers-love-to-see-leftover-food' syndrome. Pls oh pls, if you are a mother reading this, eating leftover food is definitely not worth the trouble.

2. I saw 2 different celebrities in 2 days. I saw Xiang Yun and Auntie Lucy.

The blue tee at the corner is my friend, Jiahui. I kind of regretted not to take photos with either of them. Next time, i shall step out of my comfort zone and take a photo with them. Just trying to stir up excitement and free ad for my business.

Last but not least, GSS!!

Can't wait to shop especially when most of your things are deteriorating. Starts tomr and going to spend my hard earned money on buying things. Important things of course!

This guy actually has actually close to 30,000 likes to his FB page. Where did his new-found fame come from? By just doing his job by reading the election results on national TV.

Since then, he has appeared not just on Fb but also on nation events and on television.

Frustration. I need the same type of fame for my business. Maybe i need to do something silly to gain the attraction of the current likes of people. Just plain no-sense type of actions to create interest in people. Any brilliant ideas anyone?

Though it is a shorter work week this week but i felt my days seemed a little longer as i had to wake up at 6am from wed to fri to fetch my friend around. Though i enjoy the morning breeze and the empty roads, i hate the afternoon i-wanna-sleep effect. The brain contains less energy and i had to play stimulating games just to keep my eyes awake or right now, blogging.

Thinking of going on a holiday, spending summer time in the states for a month. I am also thinking of picking up Yong Chun. Hahaha.... Just to keep myself occupied and to keep myself always learning new things.

This is absolutely ridiculous how this man gained fame and popularity by just innocently reading out the results of the election. It gained so many likes in Youtube and Thousands of "likes in Facebook. I smacked my head down on my desk and shake my head repeatedly while hearing the nonsense created out of it.

Yam Ah Mee, sorry but Singaporeans are probably finding things to say after the election and most importantly, too much time and crap in their mind to create something out of nothing. Repent, indeed they need to repent.

Election is over but the discussion of winners and losers are still not. Indeed the past 9 days were the most exciting time for Singapore politics. Before election even started, i thought to myself that this was going to be another Election where PAP gets a clean sweep and that nonchalant Singaporeans won't bother as much.

But because of the invention of Facebook and Twitter, thoughts and comments starts to flow freely and Singaporeans finally "woke up". It is a breakthrough.

I must say that elections this year brought about lots of discussion and debate. I was discussing my views with my parents and trying to sway my mum's vote to WP. hahaha... Most importantly, is the number of lame jokes that brought about this time, from Leticia, Mr Brown and Fake PM Lee. Some even made a fool of themselves, (You know who) so basically, it wasn't boring this year. Ha

Opps... Their Char Kuey Teow idea is not needed anymore.

What used to work for PAP like injecting fear or disregarding anyone BUT themselves is finally broken. Repenting has started and it is not us, Citizens.

As i see all the PAP banners and signs starting to come down, i am expecting my newly appointed GRC members to paint some love, compassion and integrity into my neighborhood.

This election is something that i will remember in my life. The unbearable heat, the results that came only in the wee hours of the night, the 30,000 packed audience in the stadium and now apparently, Yam Ah Mee. Hahaha... Because of alternative voices, we have a clearer picture, that even a well established country like Singapore can have ministers that are wolves in sheep's clothing.

Meanwhile, happy happy happy with the outcome. My parents even congratulate me on Sunday because WP won. Hahaha.... Hope to see Sylvia Lim appear at SR gardens for makan or something in the next 5 years. Proud, so proud.

Felt a little frustrated yesterday when i was being jilted...... by work!

This lady said she needed my help to send her somewhere and then last minute, decided not to cos her bf wanted to change venue for their date.

Because of this, i had to cancel dinner with my family and then she tells me NO MORE NEED of me!!

Where is the need to honor your word and even my time????

This person pushed aside her work responsibilities and went dating instead. Frustrating.

Guess people really cheapen their words nowadays by saying one thing and doing another.

Which explains my new hair cut.

I am impressed. Hooked unto WP's rallies, i watch them again and again on how i should vote this Saturday. Don't be mistaken, i listened to PAP's rallies too but somehow, i was bored and uninspired. Most of all, unconvinced and unmoved.

Emotional dilemma

Elections are here and alot of talks and sparks are on television but not in a good way. Grown ups battling each other verbally on bread and butter issues that matter are truly entertaining and exciting.

Why oh why must i live in Aljunied? The opposite party here is determined to win its votes here and what parliament deemed itself for losing to. I must say that i am pretty impressed with the level of debate over the opposition side. Check this out.

Sylvia Lim is wickedly funny. She brings truth in a funny manner and that is why she is very popular with the people. She has my vote. Haha

Deemed as the star of the team, this Taiwanese-born speaker can speak very well. With sound message that is.

Lastly, Mr Low Thia Khiang, powerful speaker, a man who genuinely cares for the people after serving the Hougang community for more than 20 years, he is really one of the reasons why i am having this emotional dilemma on how i am going to vote this time round. Haha...

Watching the news and reading the news every day to catch all the rally and how each team is counter-attack each other with points of wanting to serve the nation and its people. Voting is a right and definitely an act of faith for every citizen. Think i more of less know who i am going to vote for. Can't be taken up for a ride blindly ya?

After being a Christian for almost 13 years, I have discovered and decided on one thing. People are not perfect even Christians. Everyone seems to have a higher expectation ESP on Christians because we hear and know the truth, the good things we must do or the way we should behave. Still, most of us, Christians still have trouble behaving like Saints because we are not born as one. When Christians did something bad, it is mostly highlighted and most of us disappointed because expectation is created. Moral of the story is, DON'T have any expectations. It is not realistic even as Christians. You are giving yourself false hope. So now, I choose to be surprised rather than be disappointed. Anyway, surprises are always fun for me. Just my thought.

Don't know is it because of the coming Elections, seeing the PAPs & the different opposition parties contesting as though it is some secondary school debating competition, talking and addressing the different issues of our nation's small and big problems.

The real problem is, DOES SINGAPOREANS EVEN BOTHER?

Truthfully, i think most don't care. Only the minority do and probably half of them are contesting in the elections and the other half of them who care are taxi drivers.

Sometimes i think that the reasons why our government is successful in running a tight ship here is because most of us, citizens are basically ignorant. Most of us don't read the newspapers or see the news enough (Some people see the show "THE NOOSE" more) to know what is really going on.

Most of us are either stuck in playing iPhone games, checking-in and out of Facebook/Twitter/Foursquares or watching Korean Drama series that all of the above that doesn't relate to real life. Another group of people works so darn hard that all they want to do when they reach home is to read news about celebrities or some rap case that they read in the news.

When we do have time to sit down and think, we think about where we want to go eat, when the next public holiday is or what shall i write on Fb today? You know why taxi drivers always complain about the government or how kayu lady drivers are? Is because they sit at the taxi all day, thinking and i mean thinking of anything or everything. Trust me, as a person who drives around alot, we do spend alot of time thinking esp when stuck in a traffic jam. Thankfully, i am a Christian, so i will spend time in my car praying instead of bitching and complaining.

What i am trying to say is, let's all be more educated ESP after receiving our education. What's the point of obtaining our diplomas and degrees when we don't even know basic things like the president's name on our dollar note. It just doesn't make sense.

Let's not be ignorant anymore. Download all the apps of our local/international papers on our iPhones instead. Best of all, is all FREE!

Meanwhile, not expecting anything interesting in this year's election. Waiting for Singaporeans to be awake might take more than a decade to make our politics more interesting here.

Long weekend.. another one on its way

Long weekends is liken a hangover. Feels a little disoriented from all the fun and no work and ironically, didn't rest as much as one would have hoped. Celebrating Easter is always a highlight celebration in a Christian's life besides Christmas and even though i've seen the Easter story for the 12th time, it still touches the heart out of me and to remind myself that God's love is absolutely greater than any other person or thing in this world.

This weekend is another long holiday. Thinking what i should do with the long holiday. Thinking about Mother's day. Thinking about election thereafter. Thinking of where to eat next. Thinking when the world will ipad2 be coming. Thinking which days to exercise. Thinking where my next business will be. Thinking.

Can't see properly from this photo but these are the stickers i won from playing MD with friends. Well, technically gambling is not right so decided to win stickers instead to, No.1 keep score and No.2, win something. I scored well. Ha.

I don't know what guts these 2 have when they decided to drink this not once BUT twice. I witnessed their drinking, i witness them being tipsy. Thankfully neither both drove. Technically JH owes me $50 but she denies that the drink contains any form of beer.

Today is Monday and always a good day to rest my mind and plan what my week is going to be. For once, i am beginning to like Monday.

New TV needed

Do you know that hanging out with some people can either drain the life out of you or fill your life into you. After hanging out with different groups of people, i am starting to differentiate who i can and cannot hang out with.

Thankfully, i hang out with a bunch of good people yesterday that totally turned my mourning into dancing.

TGOM = Thank God on Monday

Something kinda scary happened today when i was lunching with a friend in the afternoon at NEX and when i was about to head back, i realised that the van key are missing from my pockets!!

Panic was running around my head and my mind but somehow, SOMEHOW my heart was still and at peace.

I returned to the location that i went. The key wasn't there. I honestly felt stressed esp when i told my mum that i lost the Master key of the van. Thankfully, she told me to calm down and take it easy. Funny that she didn't scold me. Thank God.

Somehow, i felt lead to go over to customer service to ask for assistance.

In my mind, the chances of retrieving of the keys are 50-50 but STILL my heart was still and at peace. At first, the lady told me to fill up some form but seconds later, another staff and asked me "Are these your keys?"

Amazing. Grateful. Thankful.

Thank God for a good mum. Thank God for second chances. Thank God for saving me out of tons of trouble.

older but not stronger

I am beginning to feel old. This weekend, I felt easily tired and worn out. Think it was due to the lack of exercise this week, already 1 hour of badminton made me pant and almost dead. Meanwhile, thinking of re-adjusting to my schedule of sleeping and waking up early. I just can't tahan anymore. Sorry but I am trying to grumble on my blog as I don't have energy to even speak. Shall attempt more time to exercise this week. Is 1030pm, lights out for me. Good night world.

Complains that lead to feedback

Lately, i seem to be HEARING alot of my friends complaining and complaining at how cham they are at work. How their bosses are squeezing them dry, working overtime because of just too much to do, no time for lunch and sometimes even have to face verbal abuse from their colleagues.

Somehow, i don't face the same things as they do as i work for my parents and i have my own business. So, i hear them complain. Is the standard of the work force in Singapore so bad that we don't even know how to care for human being's welfare anymore. Is it all about money now that we forgot the basic EQ knowledge of making your workers are well and happy?

I guess being a boss or having the responsibility of my own business, i not only need to worry about where the money is coming from but now, as i set my eyes for my business to move forward, i want to employ staff to help me run errands. So things like welfare and paying my staff at a reasonable rate is something that i have been thinking of lately. What kind of a boss will i be?

Guess there must be a balance of both worlds. I need to be strict and firm about the standards of my business but at the same time, soft and understanding on the welfare of my future staff.

Hearing my friend's complains does bring enlightenment on how i am going to treat my staff in the future. Meanwhile, if you are my friend reading this and wish to complain or feel better, you know who to call.

Driving by faith

Errand today: Delivery items to specific location.

Challenge today: Drive manual van after 8 long years of NOT driving it.

I honestly was so nervous about driving a van today that even God can sense i mean business in my prayer. First of all, i don't wish to wreck the van because it isn't mine and secondly, i really don't wish to injure myself or worst of all, get killed or something.

I got off to a rough start when i got into the car seat. I honestly don't remember what i should do or how am i suppose to drive that thing. Like how my mum teased me today, it is as if i am driving a space ship or air craft. As the time begin to tick, i knew i had to buckle up my courage, get my act together and drive or else my business will lose its credibility.

Like a horse galloping, that's how the car "died" on me when i repeatedly mishandled the clutch or the stick. After 5mins, i finally "got" it. Slowly but surely, thankfully, the van moved and i was on the go.

Poor Deb, sitting beside me encouraging me but yet at the same time, fearing for her death when i drove with a face filled with anxiety and uncertainly. What to do? i should have practice a days before. The thing i hate about manual is the long daunting task of changing gear all the time and esp on the fact that you have to shift into the right gear or else your van will go cuckoo.

Meanwhile, i am alive today and i thank God for His grace and mercy. Unfortunately, i have to go through another round this Friday and hopefully this time round, i will not cause the car to "die" more than 5 times. (Today's episode is a joke to my driving instructor) I decided to give myself a refresher course by watching youtube. Ha

Oh i see.... Oh well, i shall try again this Friday and hopefully, i will do better. Meanwhile, Yoko-Yoko on my left leg... oohhhooo

Breathe right

Did you know that indoor air can be 5 times more polluted than the air that you breathe outdoors? That is because there are moulds, dust, odours, mild dews & germs in the surrounding areas of our house and esp our rooms. The more stuff u have particularly in a smaller room, the more nonsense you are breathing in. (Are you reading this Chrispy??)

Which made me want to get a air purifer for my room. My poor room has only 1 window and i always get the cooking odours of kitchens and probably Chomp Chomp flying into my room. There are many air purifiers in the market today because of the SARS and haze we experienced before. It helps asthmatic people to breathe better.

One air purifer costs between $190-$600. Gosh. Is hard to find one which is good, energy saving and saves space. Which made me look into the next alternative.

Indoor plants

Getting sick of berry

I officially hate my BB. In fact, i dislike it so much that i have a top 10 list for it.

TOP 10 REASONS WHY I DISLIKE BB:-

10. I had to delete my FB and twitter app because of the lack of application memory on it. How horrible is that?

9. The most fun i had out of my phone is the calculator function.

8. My camera is only 2 mega pixel! The last time when i had a 2 mega pixel phone was when i first had my own Nokia phone 10 years ago!

7. I practically have a phone that you buy cheaply from a convenience store except that mine lets you read your emails.

6. It restarts a million times a week, without my consent!

5. I need to charge twice a day even though i don't use it heavily.

4. Sometimes i get my whatsapp message 1-2days later than what i should originally receive.

3. My friends sometimes need to call me 2-3 times before they can reach me even though i didn't switch off my phone.

2. There is no BB support/customer svc/hotline that i can seek and look for to complain my unhappiness too.

1. It is so darn boring to use it. No entertainment value and no value whatsoever. At least you can sell iphone for 1k. If you can get $200 when you sell your BB, you are considered lucky.

The only thing that makes me happy abt BB is probably only its colour. I love white. Meanwhile, hanging in there for the contract to end before i change my phone. Sometimes when i am bored, i can't even use my phone for any form of entertainment because all my games are deleted, FB and twitter gone just because there is always a lack of space in my application memory.

BB users. Time to change and move on.... to other Android or Apple software.

Travelling in my heart

After talking to an American tourist today, i had this urge of wanting to travel around the world before i die. 3 Americans, no family, no work commitment, no worries. Travel as much as they want, travel as far as they can go. I used to think that Americans don't travel much out of their country, clearly i am mistaken. This guy traveled to 65 different countries in the world (out of the 196) in his lifetime though he is already in his late 50s. Not too bad i must say.

This made me wanna do this.

I have so far traveled to:-

Can someone enlighten me on how to earn big bucks? I need enlightenment.

Ending my day with a bloated tummy

As i am typing this, i am still waiting for my tummy to calm down and release any form of bloated air that is trapped inside my tummy. Is my bad, i had 2 cups of different types of smoothies today. Shouldn't have drunk so much.

Celebrated Deb's birthday early this year as she will be away to Yangon for the next 2 months. Decided to take her out for crab as legend said that she was able to eat 3 types of crab flavors in one seating. Asked her partners in crime along to enjoy the crab feasting.

The first crab was huge, 1.8kg if i didn't remember wrongly. The crab claw was as big as my fist. Ok, no evidence of that but i tell you is huge. Eating a huge crab like that feels like eating a piece of steak to me but when i told it to my friends, they kinda laughed but i had the last laugh when i saw their KO faces when they finished the last piece of crab. Mind you, these 2 dishes were cleared by 3 ladies.

Though i wasn't able to witness the legend of them eating 3 different crabs in one night, but eating 2 alone is quite impressive. That's all i want to say. Resting on thy bed early. Gotta let my tummy rest. Good night everyone!

(NOTE: Crab eaten at No signboard restaurant in Geylang. Nice food, good service, free valet parking!) Only down side is the up side action of girls parading around for business, if you know what i mean. Ha

My new office work station

Interesting cloud formation today in Singapore. But this is the most assuring.

Yesterday was my second time in Suntec and i must say that it has been great. Even though we have a stage like a spaceship, have the biggest screen ever seen in modern church history but we sung to tunes when i was a young Christian in Hollywood. I was amazed when i heard the 'against all odds' album when i walked into church yesterday. I haven heard of that song since 10 years ago. It was surreal. In a good way.

I miss going to church on Sundays now. Feels weird not to be up early for it. So i decided to log on to the CHC website and watch the svc online. Believe me. There is a difference. Saturday SVC is alot more youths but Sundays are more of the adults group. There was a strong presence of God and i was touched even though i was watching it on computer. Amazing.

Like what the Bible says in the old testament, the altar of God should be carried by God's priest, meaning as Christians, we carry the presence of God wherever we go but never through mainly just by our attendance in church or by self-excitement or exuberance but by the sacrifices and strong desire to know God more.

Even though the energy of Sat service is there, but i miss the strong tangible presence on Sunday services. See? Even rainbows appear on Sundays. It seems extra dim on Saturday. Oh right, Earth hour.

Oh well. Sunday ended. Here comes another week of hard work before we receive the weekend again. Have a good week ahead!

Let nature take its course

Today was quite an unfruitful day as i got in and out. I was throwing OUT phlegm the whole morning and drinking tons of water IN to my body. It is definitely a horrible feeling to be sick. I don't like it any single bit. But somehow, i had a revelation about my body and probably yours.

I am a total believer of being able to self-heal instead of going to doctors for healing, as if for general but minor sickness such as cold or sore throat. Pills might help to fasten the pace of recovery but in generally, doesn't solve the root of the problem.

In the course of the whole day, i had to forced myself to drink tons of water to prevent my throat from bleeding (well, my phlegm rubbing against the throat).

- This is probably my body's way to get me to drink more water.

Due to my lack of sleep or having to sleep late lately, i was sleeping most of the time as i was just lethargic and unmotivated to go anywhere else.

- This is probably my body's way to get me to sleep and rest more.

I was giving out everything that my body could give out such as coughing, sweating, removing phelgm plus no.1 & 2.

- This is probably my body's way of getting impurities & germs in my system.

Beyond this, my body sometimes show me what foods are good and what foods are bad for me. Any food that i eat which leads me to immediate bloating or discomfort is bad food. Things like soya products, yellow noodles or deep fried food from outside food stores.

Do you know that i used to eat and drink cold drinks at the same time? Now, i do it lesser unless i am really hot. Hot food and cold water just don't mix. It makes our tummy all mess up. It might cause potential damage to your stomach so try to drink after a meal or at least half an hour after a meal. You will feel much better.

I might be someone who reads alot about health issue, from this doctor or dietitian but nobody speaks a better truth than our body. They have their own resistance and way to combat our sicknesses by dropping us little hints.

Meanwhile, feeling alot better at night and hoping to get better tomr. Lots of things to do tomr but i promised my body that i will sleep at a reasonable hour and drink tons of water everyday. Good night everyone. Remember to sleep early tonight.

Mute mode

I don't know how it happened but i am currently voice-less. Irritating. I experienced slight itching throat yesterday but didn't expect it to lead to sore throat and now, currently, the voice of a mouse apparently.

The bad thing about being sick is being it. I hate it. I try my best to eat right and exercise more just to prevent myself from getting IT. There were many times when i wanted to suan my friend or talk crap but all these turned futile when i let out a squeak instead. Sigh.

I blame on the fact that i have been sleeping late these past few days and having to wake up early. Old as i am getting, a little late sleep at 2am will lead to body resistance being down. Argh!

Meanwhile, my strategy is to sleep early tonight, drink tons of water and cough out all my phelgm. I shall be made well in Jesus name!! by tomr! or else i will be miserable to stay home.

New day, new start

Goodness me, i don't know why but i have been sleeping so late these few days, being 2am my latest. I don't feel good sleeping so late but i can't help it as i always seem to be doing some form of work. It sometimes doesn't help when i am watching Top Chef or when my lappy turns laggy. Everything seems to be taking up my time and delaying my sleeping. I shall just do one thing at one time so that i can be focused and make up good time.

Meanwhile, wanted to talk about moving into Suntec last weekend. Truly it was exciting before, during and after the whole service. We count down so many times as a church, when i reached the site, i was brought back into good o times of queuing up to get into the hall and having this cool door gift as i got seated.

In one card, it reflects 2 photos. Before and after shot. Cool right??? Amber road photo made Chris teared. I don't blame her. The whole service that day had a family feel to it. Even though we have the latest high technological 3D screen but like Pastor, our hearts are still old and nostalgic to the good o times as we sung old melodies that i used to sing when i was a youth and in Hollywood theater.

New day for the church, new day also for His people. I feel in my heart, i sense it in my Spirit. My breakthroughs and new adventures are coming my way. I feel it!

Thank God for City Harvest. Thank God to be under the leadership of Pastor Kong. Thank God.

Even though there are alot of uncertainties in the world esp the natural disasters and the war in Liberia but God is in control in every situation and aspect of the world. He is in control of my world too.

After being bored these few days, i decided to look up on what are the interesting things that are recently made and done up in Singapore. So this is to inform most of us who are "swaku" AKA ignorant.

The 620-metre long boardwalk links VivoCity Promenade and Sentosa. It is touted as South-East Asia's largest thematic walkway, featuring five garden themes depicting different landscapes of Singapore.

Visitors can also make use of the canopy-covered travellators for their journey to the island.

On average, it will take about 15 minutes to cross the walkway. At night, the boardwalk will be illuminated to enhance the precinct and visitors' experience

The project will cost about S$70 million, and access to the bridge will be free to the public. However, there will be a ticketing booth at the Sentosa end of the boardwalk for those who wish to enter the island. It cost $1 for entry.

ArtScience Musuem at MBS

With its iconic lotus-inspired design, the ArtScience Museum is set to become the heart of the growing ArtScience movement as well as the premier venue for major international exhibitions from renowned collections worldwide.

Featuring 21 gallery spaces totaling 50,000 sq. ft., the latest addition to MBS is set to display a variety of exhibits that spans the art and science, media and technology as well as design and architecture.

This whole area is nicely developed by the government. There is a skating rink at MBS, Waterfront promenade which has a water feature show every night at 8pm & 9.30pm and new malls! Overall, quite nice view architecturally-speaking.

The Hort park is indeed very big and spacious. Tons of activities for kids and good opportunity to exercise for adults too. Awesome.

The best & the worst

The worst thing that happened today - Seeing naked Chinese women bath today after my swim at a public pool. Why can't they use the door? It may not be available in their homeland but doors are fixed in ALL places here. Use it!!!! And why must they dress up beyond the cubicles? Don't they know that Singaporeans ain't that open-minded?

Finally, the best thing that happened today - Feasting lunch and dinner with Jiahui & Deborah. Thai food in the afternoon, Hainanese food at night. Awesome gaming of Monopoly Deal as well. Fun times! Awesome company and friends. Very thankful to know them.

Meanwhile, is 12.50am on a Friday morning. Looking forward for the weekends and thank God for this week for less hectic work schedule and a healed gum.

The best part about today is eating Meatball Marinara from Subway. First time eating this. I must say that it is really good except that it kept me full for a good long while. Read in Yahoo News that Subway is overtaking McDonald's chain worldwide!! So happy that people are actually choosing to eat wisely. Meanwhile, shall contemplate the idea to have subway once a month.

As of this week, my cg will now attend Sat services which leads to a change of lifestyle esp after attending services on Sunday for 5 years now, it is truly another transition. Kinder nostalgic to be going back to Jurong West after so many years. The titanium building, the illegal crossing of the road, climbing the staircase sure brings back memories. I had a hard time climbing those stairs. I had a problem with the huge crowd and squeeziness of the whole place but nevertheless, i appreciate and still love the building. Reminds me of the time when i was young and filled with energy, serving and being part of Bible School.

After service, fellowship with the CG. Always good, had a good time with Thow Wee, Eliz n SY.

Waking up on Sundays without needing to rush off to church will seem weird but i guess i will try to keep my time fruitful and useful. Went to play badminton again. Good time and good chance to work out. A brand new week ahead. Thinking of what i should do and what i can do. Indeed i need the Holy Spirit & God's anointing. Shall look forward to this week with a positive mindset. Have a great week ahead!

Money mind

After calculating my expenses and income for this month, i realized that i need more money. This month, i have to pay for my road tax, car insurance and car servicing. Thus, amounts of 4-digits are left flying through my bank account and into other people's pockets. Sigh.

I need more money. I need to find ways to make my money work for me. I need inspirations. I need fresh ideas. I need wisdom. I need ipad2. Ok, that's another story.

As i enter this year, i have been trying my best to reduce my expenses and trying to earn more. BMT is doing well so far but i wished for more.

Weekends are here and looking forward to rest and be refreshed.

Fresh new month

Is mid-week and i am extremely tired. Not too sure is it because of my irritatingly swollen gum or because of my hectic work schedule. After calculating my total income for the month of Feb, i was unpleasantly surprised when i realised that i actually earned lesser than last month! I was recalculating and recalculating and still the amount was the same. i was honestly upset but yet again, maybe is because of the Chinese New Year break so therefore the loss of income for 1 week.

At least there are more days in the month of March. Feb only has 28 days! Oh, maybe another reason why. Anyways, have been driving like a mad woman since last week and more to come this week. I can't even find the time to finish reading my books and all my recorded shows! It would be a luxury to do them all but i have bills to type and also pay.

Nevertheless, looking forward to the weekend. Looking forward to healed gums. Looking forward to see Deb pass her driver's license. Looking forward to Bible Study tomr. Not looking forward to go jurong west but never mind. Support the church, worship God, that is the most important thing.
